Brew yourself a warm cup of tea. Feel the heat of the mug in your hand and the warm, scented vapor rising past your face. Take a sip, and enjoy the knowledge that you're giving your body the building blocks it needs to keep you energized and protected.

Herbal teas contain a wealth of phytonutrients, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds that are vital to your body. They also have a whole range of different flavors, strengths, and unique benefits. These four teas are used around the world as general health tonics and to support a healthy immune system and lifestyle.

Adding pure raw honey to your tea is a way to improve the flavor, while doubling down on antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory compounds in your cup. It also gives you a gentle and natural energy boost. If you're looking for extra tasty tea, try adding some flavored honey to your brew.

Each tea has unique benefits and common uses, so read on to learn which one is the best addition to your wellness routine. I've also included some of my favorite honey flavor pairings, to inspire your own creations.

1) Echinacea Tea

You've probably heard someone suggest echinacea for fighting a cold. This plant, native to North America, was used as an immune-booster and cure-all by indigenous peoples. The practice continued for centuries, and though its use declined with the development of antibiotics, it has never disappeared. The flowering plant has antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is said to stimulate the immune system, encouraging the body's natural defenses to fight off infections or viruses.

Echinacea has a potent floral flavor that many people prefer to sweeten with Don Victor Pure Honey.

2) Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus tea is made from the petals of beautiful hibiscus flowers, giving it a bright red hue. Its taste is tart and fruity, a bit like cranberries.

Hibiscus tea is full of antioxidants, and some studies have shown that it can help fight harmful bacterial infections. It has also been shown to lower blood pressure when enjoyed consistently for several weeks. It may also reduce blood fat levels, a risk factor for heart disease, and improve liver function. On top of all this, there is evidence that it promotes weight loss.

As you can see, hibiscus is a pretty helpful all-around tea. Do note; if you're already taking hydrochlorothiazide for blood pressure, you should avoid hibiscus to prevent an interaction. Otherwise, it can be a tasty and healthy addition to your diet.

Since the flavor of hibiscus is naturally tart, adding some mellow sweetness is a good option. Don Victor Honey with Strawberry is a great complementary flavor.

3) Turmeric Tea

Turmeric is a yellow root spice native to India and Southeast Asia. It has been used for centuries for both cooking and medicine.

Turmeric is chock-full of anti-inflammatory compounds, especially curcumin. Curcumin has been used to reduce severe arthritis inflammation and ease the associated pain. It also shows promise in slowing the progression of Alzheimer's and other age-related cognitive issues.

Another of curcumin's benefits is to help regulate the immune system. The exact mechanisms aren't fully understood, and scientists are working to figure out exactly how turmeric works. However, the results are compelling enough that it is being studied as a possible immune disorder therapy.

Turmeric's earthy flavor works well with Don Victor Honey with Lemon.

4) Peppermint Tea

Peppermint is a versatile herb with an array of uses. It can help with digestive issues, better sleep, weight loss, and cramps. It can help lessen seasonal allergy symptoms and also help clear your sinuses when things are stuffy.

Just the act of drinking a hot cup of tea and breathing in the warm vapors can help clear mucus. The menthol in peppermint tea adds a soothing effect and easier breathing. Peppermint's mild muscle relaxant properties can also help ease cold-related headaches.

Like the rest of the teas on this list, peppermint is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, so your whole system will thank you.

Try any of these teas for a moment of calm comfort and new flavor. Incorporate Don Victor Pure Honey for even more benefits. Add a daily cup as part of your regular wellness routine to give your hard-working immune system the support it deserves.
